Holy Cow

It was freakin 90 degrees the whole night last night and OF COURSE my screen in my bedroom is broken and the landlord hasn’t fixed it yet soo my bedroom was ballsy hot. I ended up sleeping downstairs on the futon…gt’s gt’s…

However, I had class at 8 this morning and not going to lie, my nutrition class is going to be the best. We have to keep a food journal for part of it and do all this stuff about caloric intake and carbs and proteins…then I have to make a menu for a family of 4…theres obvs much more but i’m suber excited for it!

I made the most busted schedule, I mean I think I will like it but right now it kinda is sketchy. I have class 8-915, then 930-1045. Break. Then 1230-145, 2-315. Then prac 4-6. LOOONG DAY.

I’m pondering what to have for lunch.

Oh ps. I love the fact that the first day of school this year I weigh 146ish (I’m not weighing myself officially until Thursday of this week because it’s been so funky) and last year at this time I weighed 190.3. I can’t even believe it.

Guacamole Chicken

Chicken is bar none my husbands favorite meal no matter how it is cooked.  This juicy white meat is an excellent source of lean protein. Beyond being protein packed, chicken is also an excellent source of B6 which plays a pivotal role in our overall cardiovascular health.  So if you want a quick heart healthy dinner, through these chicken breasts on the BBQ, top with a little guacamole and enjoy.

I love everything about this. Def making this for dinner this week. DEFFFF

eggggcelent

sooo since I had practice at 630 I decided to have an egg beater omelette (1pt eggbeater, 1pt laughing cow swiss) with onion and green peppers and toast. I also made some asparagussss. So that was good because it was light enough that I didn’t feel undigested at practice but It wasn’t too little that I would be starving at 8…

however…he let us out at 9….sooo i was hungry to say the least. I wanted something warm and quick so for second dinner hahaah, i had the light waffles (2pt) with peanut butter (2pt) and jelly with some banana (1pt)…freakiiin’ delish. breakfast foods like waffles or bagels or pancakes are by far my favorite foods. faaa shoooo.

I’m freakin tired but last night I went to bed at 10pm… and woke up at 545…wayyy to early considering class wasn’t until 10. Tomorrow I go pretty much 8-315 then practice at 4…jooooyyyyyyy. So i’ll have to work out tomorrow night after dinner boooo- but i’ll just keep it light? yes probs.

xox cait…oh and i really miss my puppy :(

I LOVE Hummus :) Haha thanks for the tips! Ugh, I know it's going to be tough, but I want this SO badly. I'm not lacking motivation. Well, hopefully that mindset sticks throughout this year away from home! I mean you're a great inspiration since you actually did it! So I know it's possible :) I'll definitely have to check out that book though!

awww thanks i’m glad i can be of help! you and the rest of the tumblr world def keep me going strong. i’m like addicted to checking up on everyone hahaha!

No, I've never met one! I would like to try it. My mom did that when she was on WW and said it helped. I really like it online though. I'm living on campus. I move in in a few weeks. I'm totally scared of the whole food situation. I love to cook, but I'll have to deal with a communal kitchen and I don't know how that's going to work out :| I have two meals a day from the dining halls though. AKA my worst nightmare! How was losing weight in college for you?? I mean, you did/are doing it!

Ahhh dining halls are def a challenge for us college girls haha. Honestly, I took the easy way out. My fresh year is when I gained more weight (but i was not conscience of just HOW badly I was eating) and then my soph year I transferred to a school near my home and lived at home. And now I’m at another school but this time I have an apartment so I lucked out and I cook for myself. However, its still tough in general being in college trying to lose weight. I would def recommend filling your plate with veggies and making side salads then trying to stay proportional with meats. Breakfast at the dining hall should be easy, it’s just dinner and lunch which will be trickier. Wraps are always a good choice because you can load them up w veggies and lean deli meats. And I don’t know if you eat hummus but it is SOO good and 2tbsp is only 1 point and for a sandwich you only ever need 1 really. Avoid the desserts too but don’t necessarily forbid yourself from them, just if you do have dessert only have it at dinner not lunch and dinner! I feel like you’ve got a good grasp.

Oh another side note- I haven’t read the book yet but I heard the book The Secret by Rohnda Byrne is crazy inspirational and it talks about how if you invision things (bad or good) you will accomplish it. So keep your head in it and you will dominate :)

Oh yeah, that might be a good idea! Well actually, I've been doing WW Online, so I haven't been to a meeting. I really don't know if I'm allowed to go to them! Haha. There is a WW just about 2 miles away from my campus though.

Oh really! So you just follow online? You’ve never met a leader? I found them super helpful. I guess I’m just going to have to adjust to online hahah! Are you living on campus? like do you have to deal with dining hall food or are you cooking for yourself?

Haha it's fine! I played club soccer, but I'm not playing in college. Kudos to you! College soccer is intense! Don't worry about the 1lb. Seriously you're going to lose a lot with all of the training! Maybe you should try varying your point limit. My daily allowance is 22.

about 2 months ago i hit a spell where i would gain then lose what i gained, and they had me go from 21 one day then the next day down to 19, so i’m thinking maybe i’ll do that if this week i didnt go down. Do you go to meetings while your still at school? There aren’t any ww meetings within an 1hr from here, its so strange not having a weekly meeting.

saturday night and the feeling rigggght

(please note the spice girl song as my title-pure class i know).

So I had my first ‘successful’ night out after being back at school. When I started my weight loss journey the first and easiest thing for me to cut out was alcohol. Alcohol has horrible effects on the body, it is all empty calories and energy and for an athlete it takes a huge toll on your body (http://www.uhs.uga.edu/aod/athletic-performance.html). It has been over a year since I’ve drank. It wasn’t as hard to stay away from last year because when I transferred to my second school I ended up living at home and primarily hanging out with my two friends who didn’t drink much.

Now that I’m back up here though, I am with some friends from freshmen year and now my new soccer team (knock on wood, he posts the roster at 11 so I’m not 100% on the team yet). Last night after dinner, which my parents came up and my brother, his girlfriend and I all went to this mexican restaurant, I didn’t do horribly though I had a chicken fajita. Well last night after dinner I went over to my friends Brian and Dan’s house and hung with them and the rest of the boys and then brought them all to a girl on my soccer teams house. All in all I had a great night, I didn’t drink at all and when people asked ‘why aren’t you drinking’ or anything like that I just said I didn’t feel like it. It was perfect no one really could careless.

My thoughts are still the same on alcohol, and I know I won’t be drinking anytime soon. My roommate Sam asked me the other day if I was going to drink on my 21st and that is something still up for debate, at this point I say no but who knows.

For me, alcohol was really a crutch, a trying to make me feel good, which I recognized was terribly wrong. Not only would I use it to cover up my problems but when I was drunk I was a girl I never wanted to be. I did things I regret and am embarrassed by. Also whenever I was drunk I’d eat really badly, and it would always be really late. It not only would effect me that night, but then my body would feel the effects the next day. It effected my school work and my health.

Word.

grrrr

alright so first off i’m frustrated that i still have no internet or cable. yes ive been very busy with soccer but when im not at soccer or team meals or bonding then im bored in my apartment with food. ive been good at avoiding lately, like if i am hungry i grab some fruit or veggies which is a much better alternative but still. not necessary right now.

2. you would think with the two a day soccers of 2 hr practs each that i would have lost weight this week. WRONG. I do not know how that happened but i gained 2.2 lbs??? seriously what the heck.

my thoughts on this are obviiii very annoyed/upset. but heres the thing, i stayed within my post for the most part (there was like 2 days i went over by one or two points, but actually whos to say i went over because i didnt know how to track practices!! so i just wrote 2 or them! uuugggh idk)

so yeah i dont know how i gained. i am not sure exactly if  a weight gain could be the result of muscle gain? or sore muscles? what are your thoughts on that? (ps. i dont know how to get a reply box each time so sometimes it isnt there if this is one of those times PLLLEASSSE message me i need advice/help).

This is just very annoying because its my first week here, doing this alone, and i gained. Its strange I didn’t gain when I was on the vineyard for a week but i gained here…I don’t know.

One time my weight watcher leader told me that gains can show up a week late (meaning this could be my vacation weight) but she also said losses can show up a week late (so perhaps this is sore muscle weight, like fluid in them?, and then next week I will lose?) I guess only time will tell.

Well, time for me to catch up on all your posts :)

phew!

Wow. So the internet I’d been stealing from my neighbors totally doesn’t work anymore…so no more wireless…I’m currently sitting at a wireless cafe just so I can creep on tumblr and update :) I’d call that dedication!

Soccer started Sunday night and I was suber (super+uber, I’m making that happen) anxious. Literally all the morning I just kept wanting to nom…Instead of noming on bad things though I ate fruit and veggies so I could have done so much worst. Sunday night we just did the beep test (I had NO idea what it was at first). It’s real simple you try and beat the beep at all these levels (they get harder and the beeps get closer together). Anyways I did really well in that Sunday night, I finished with some of the other girls. We then just scrimmaged and I went home soaking wet (because it down poured the whole time…joy).

Because it’s try outs we have double sessions every day (greatness for me because thats double the work outs!!)

This morning we had a team breakfast at 715 at the dining hall which I was really nervous about because of two reasons 1) I don’t have a meal plan because I live off campus, and 2) because dining hall food blows. But never fear, I ate my normal breakfast at my apartment and then just sipped on some milk and had an orange!

We had pract at 9-11 and that was BEYOND GREAT. We started it off with the beep test again, this time however I was the last one running! Which is a good thing! I beat all the other girls out and got to level 12! WOOO! Then we ran for 12 mins and we were trying to see how many laps we could do (which all the girls bitched and moaned about because it was after the beep test) . Anyways I finished in the top 5 (we were all in a small group, oh and 22 girls are trying out). So that was GREAT to be at the tops of it. I’ve never been one of the top girls, like fastest. We then had to have team lunch, again slight freak out because I was worried that I would have to eat there. But instead I had some water and a banana to reenergize! I had made a delish wrap at home (chicken-2pt, swiss cheese 1pt, wrap 1pt, lettuce, tomato+onion) and I had a fiber 1 bar and some fruit.

We had second session at 1-3 and that was great too! We again did the beep test (it’s getting really old now…) and I tied with this other girl at level 11. We broke into smaller groups and played some field games like 3v3 and 2v2 then did full field 11v11. Overall, successful day.

I’m pretty tired, but my legs are feeling good. It made me feel really great hearing all the girls complain about the running and abs and junk we were doing because I was holding my own and beasting it (not to be cocky but hell yeah I worked hard all year for this test of my abilities!)

I made some taco meat tonight so I can just quickly pop that in this week for lunch or dinner.

OOOOooo000oo! I forgot to mention my most delish dinner nom of being in my apartment!

Dinner tonight was great-

-Lite bun (1pt)

-3 oz chicken (3pts) microwaved with hot sauce

-laughing cow swiss (1pt) spread on the bun!

-onions

-chopped lettuce!

mmmm it was SO good.

Had some steamed green beans from the farmers market Saturday too. Def a good dinner.

My flaw of the past couple days, I keep randomly sticking my finger in the peanut butter and eating it (obvs, and that sentence was weird…) I’d say I’ve had 4pts over the past 2 days of just my random peanut butter bingeing… I’ve gotta stop that habit right nooow.

Okay- sorry longgggg post. Don’t know when I’ll have internet again!
