February Goals

I noticed that in Jan/Dec/Nov I didn’t really have focused goals. November was all about reaching goal (which I did, but then gained 6+lbs). In Dec/Jan I didn’t even make goals! WHAT?!? Yeah blogging NO NO. My bad guys. So a goal in itself- MAKE FEB GOALS- oh okay here they are :) 

  1. COMPLETE THE WINTERMAN MARATHON. I think this goal is self explanatory :) Feb 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!….!!!!!!!!!..!!!!…!!!!!…!!!!
  2. Push ups 100 every morning and 100 every evening! WHOMP WHOMP
  3. Planks, 6 planks through out the day (starting w 1min, probs will increase)
  4. Majority of work should be done at the library. 
  5. Try new things,(foods, activities,books)
  6. Eat more protein, good carbs, good oils. Track EVERYTHING. 
  7. Hopefully, in the process of all the goods- lose 3-4lbs (by march 3rd). I won’t be too upset if this doesn’t happen. I want to focus on overall healthy eating and obvs main focus is on training properly and fueling right!)

Booty Shot Mondizzle

BAM there’s yo bootaaay shot. (BUT def not a beauty shot)

So let’s just check out my miles for the month of January.

168 baishssssssssss! Lets look too at how I kept my word that after soccer season ended I was going to run more :) Well I’ve ran 118 miles more than in soccer BAM. 

Lots of work ta doooo now! Happy Monday! Hope no one has the case of the Mondaysss.

Work out for the day- 3.12 miles @24min 20sec, elliptical for an hour, abs tonight during pretty little liars and cake boss!

Eats- Breakfast was oatmeal, 1tbsp peanut butter, banana, and blueberries. Lunch was Whole Wheat/10grain bread, hummus, turkey (deli) cucumber, spinach. Apple and carrots. Snack so far- Grapes and 2 tangs.

SUNDAY RUNDAY IS ALWAYS A FUNDAY

Went to the local diner with Hollie this morning! She got a huge pancake which looked delicious but I was too afraid to mix up my usual breakfast before a long run so I stuck with oatmeal, blueberries and peanut butter. Next time I go there I’m totally getting a pancake though. 

I’m tapering before THE BIG MARATHON WHOMP WHOMP which is in 20 DAYS AHHHHH. Anyways today was a 16 mile run and it just so happened to be 16 degrees outside. Keeping to my word I ran outside despite the cold. It honestly wasn’t that bad. The only problem was that the roads/ sidewalks weren’t that clean so it big time slowed me down- it also hurt my knees/ hips because it was almost like running on sand. 

My face is still not thawed out bahah.

Sunday Funday will continue to be awesome (and a bit warmer) while I stay inside my apartment reading a billion chapters for all my classes. Wooo! I can tell already I’m going to be asleep by 10 at the latest tonight haha.

AWESOME SAUCE

I’m going to start with the simple picture I stumbled across on Tumblr…

This picture alone is the reason I want to run cross country next fall. I want that feel you get after a race when you know you’ve put all you’ve got into it. Whatever my place may be I want that rush and glory knowing I’ve tried the best that I could into 3.1 or however many miles it may be. I want that feeling of self accomplishment. 

Now onto my weekend thus far… Friday after class I creepily picked some sketchy-weirdo outside of an academic building and went to the fitness center to run together haha. Hahah Just kiddinggg! Hollie (my new friend who we became friends by being our own creepy selves blog stalking each other). We ran next to each other on treadmills and the miles just flew by! We then went back to her town house and made protein waffles which were amazeeeballsss (Nice work Hollie you lived up to your rep!). She also got me hooked on dipping the waffles in greek yogurt mmmmm. I am very excited because Hollie and I are pretttttttty much sistas from other mistas…wait did I seriously say that? Um we have similar interests and hobbies bahah- WE ARE AWESOME PRETTY MUCH. Her blog (even though I don’t think any one follows this blog…) is http://lolzthatswim.wordpress.com/ and she’s awesome and has way more interesting stuff to post than me. 

One last note- tomorrow is the start of my tapering. I’m running either 15 or 16 miles and I’m with out a doubt running outside. Even if it’s cold. (If there is a wind chill issue then I won’t but it looks promising right now). 

Now I will force you all to look at my adorable dog because I miss her and wish I could be cuddling with her right now.

Weekend Work outs- Friday  7 miles @ 55:52 and minimal abs bahah Saturday- Elliptical 1hr, then AMT 30min, Push Ups/Planks.

Friday I've got no FUNDS day

My loan money has yet to come. Therefore…bills have yet to be paid…Oh joy.

No smiling here. I got my heat bill for the month of Dec-Jan and I wasnt even here for most of it and it was up 50$….YES I understand winter months are colder and it will be more but 50$ more is a bit too much I feel like. I confronted my roommates because they’ve been here for most of January and they said they had the heat at 68….WE DONT NEED IT THAT HIGH grr. anyways they being nice (and I’m quite surprised they agreed to this- maybe they have become logical human beings) well anyways they agreed that they would each pay a little more this month since I was not here. THANK FULLY. But come on check get here I have groceries to buy and bills to pay jeeeshhh!

Now onto the goods- 

Today I only had one class 9-950.SCORE. Then went running (7miles-55:52sec) with my new friend Hollie (Hi Hollie if you’re reading this!) and then we went back to her townhouse and she made protein waffles which were amazeballs and has converted me over to topping them with greek yogurt. YUUESSSS so good. Try it- you’ll love it.

I’m back in the 130s yayayayayaayay!!

5mile run, 38min 10 seconds. Elliptical for a bit ( I didn’t look at the time because I was on the phone with my mom, def more than half hour though). Now off to make dinner (no clue what I’m making btw…) 

HAPPY FREAKIN THURSDAY! Grey’s and Jersey Shore tonight :) I must admit I do like that crappy show…it grew on me…they are just hilarious I like to laugh and they def keep me laughing

Grey's Anatomy has the answers to life.

Wednesday means…the weeks almost over! Anddd tomorrow is my official weigh in day but after the gym this afternoon I stepped on the scale…dun dun dun 139.1!!! Yesss! I am down 2.1 lbs from last week! WOOO! Nothings official until tomorrow but this is looking good I must say :) 

Have I mentioned my love for the show Grey’s Anatomy? I have seriously seen about every episode about twenty times. I pretty much live my life by certain quotes they say. Here’s one that I’m really digging today.

Honestly from beginning of Dec until about a week ago I was aware of my weight gain, and I was aware of reasons for why I could have gained (clearly not eating what I needed to be eating) but I wasn’t doing anything about it. I was moping and being pissy. But I got my act together and I’ve been back on track and it feels great to be losing again and feeling more confident in my body again!

My chili was only OKAY. It was def not my mothers chili which is the bomb.com. However, my corn bread muffin was amazeeeballlls. Not the prettiest of meals but I wanted to show you guys my horrible cooking skills hahaha. I better stick to wraps, sandwiches, pancakes and omelette’s…seems to be the only stuff I’m actually good at cooking…

BLISTERS BLOW

Lets be honest. There is nothing fun about a blister and I have a massive black hole of a blister on the arch of my right foot. Yiiieee I hate it. It heals and then just rebreaks open the next time I run. BOO. I’ll spare you a picture of it ;) However I totally was going to take one but my roommate said I was gross…WHATEVAA

I found my winter gloves today!!! They were at the bottom of my sock drawer!

Clearly I was wicked excited about this. Go to pick Northface for the HEATWAVE of 8 degrees we are having here…Feels like a heatwave considering yesterday was a record low of -28 degrees.

Ran 5 miles today at the gym for my first run back after the 20miler. 38minutes and 28 seconds so I was pretty pumped about the pace considering my legs were a bit tight. Then ellipticalled (did I make that word up just now?) for another half hour. Obviouusllly during biggest loser tonight planks/push ups/abs of all sorts will be happening. 

During the last half mile my legs were really tight and in my mind I kept saying “a marathon will be 20x harder than this you can finish half a mile…” I’m going to keep reminding myself of that when I am on tough runs- THE MARATHON WILL BE TOUGHER so GET USED TO IT! type thanng. 

OH ps. I made turkey sausage chili! It’s been cookin’ in the crock pot all day!

No Case of the Monday's here!

Well well well!  A bunch of great stuff has happened today! For starters my first and only class of the day lasted about 20 minutes…score.

Then I went and bought my textbooks…UNDER 400$ How did I manage to get so lucky when I am taking 6 classes??? 

I then went grocery shopping to restock my apartment which had next to nothing in it. I decided I wanted to try and cook a chili in my crock pot tomorrow for dinner. Tomorrow, and every Tuesday, will be the day from hell. I have class pretty much 930am to 6pm.. YIKES. I also am making corn bread ;) 

And the greatest news of them all! I called my this apartment building where I want to live next about next semester and got my studio apartment! Woohoo! So there is that stress already taken care of!

Today is def a rockstar status kind of day.

Oh ALSO I am taking a complete rest day today. (SAY WHAT??) Yeah I can’t even tell you the last time I did absolutely no exercise in one day. Legit. I am not doing ANYTHING today. Nada. Zilch. Nonezo.

Another weird stat of today...

My run this morning was longer than my drive back to school….

Run = 2 hours 54 mins

Drive back = 2 hours 40ish minutes….

WEEEEEIIIIIIIRRRRRDDDDD

Eeee I’m giddy for my first day of classes tomorrow :) My nerdish school side has me not only nervous for my tough schedule this semester but also pumped for an awesome challenge…..GET SOMEEEEEE

I'm a bit off my rocker....

Let me give you the stats of today.

  • 6 degrees with a wind chill of -9…WIND CHILL ADVISORY LISTED.
  • 2 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy (before I switched to Harry Potter)
  • 14 minutes…the amount of time into HP before I switched to my ipod
  • 28 times I wanted to quit (seriously thats more than one a mile…whoops)
  • 8 times I questioned my sanity
  • 2 times I stopped and almost called it quits completely BUT GOT BACK ON
  • 1 Clif Shot Blok bar…YUMMM
  • 2 times I started to cry (at about mile 18)
  • 1 ice bath made up
  • but I was a wimp and lasted about 20 seconds in it….

2 hours and 54 minutes later the 20 miles was completed…on a treadmill…again. My hips really hurt and I am overall pretty sore right now. I ran a total of 54 miles this past week (because the 18 was on Monday) I think that had an effect on my soreness and my slower pace (I was seriously dyin a couple times). 

How does that saying go? “A win’s a win?” Well I guess I can take it as this… “A 20 mile runs a 20 mile run….” I am so proud of myself for finishing this…it was very tough but I did it! Tapering from here on out then the big marathon!! Packing up my stuff and back to school in a bit.

Oh Mother Nature

Thank you (NOT) for making the winter in Upstate NY oh so very cold. My two places where I live (I’m going back today so this is the weather for there as well) and Ottawa’s weather right now is quite cold….

True Life: I wear glasses

 I’m hoping my glasses tonight will distract people from my massive amounts of mountains on my face. Yes-I am human and I get many o pimples. I guess that’s what happens when you sweat and don’t wash your face every morning…grosss I know I am…I can’t help it…

Fridizzzzz

I didn’t post this yesterday but I went to weight watchers and I had a gain…again. During my weight loss journey I rarely had a gain, RARELY. After I reached goal (it happened to be Christmas/New Years) and I gained a total of 6 pounds. Then I lost 2 then I just gained another pound. With this mass confusion (because I’m working out a butt load so it’s very confusing how I can be gaining since I am not eating thousands and thousands of calories a day). Anyways- met with a leader this morning and brought my 3 month journey. We have noticed I eat too many crap carbs, not enough protein and I need more healthy oils and milk! ALSO I need to stop eating artificial/ processed crap. 

This being said- new and improved awesome lunch!

1 egg, 2 egg whites, 1 slice of swiss cheese, a bunch of spinach with 1 tsp of olive oil, 1/4th avocado and a slice of whole wheat bread! And an apple. (For breakfast I had Vanilla Greek yogurt with some kashi crunch on top and a banana! and a Pear after the gym for a snack)
